How it works

From download to job-ready resume in four simple steps

No design skills. No fighting with formatting. Pick a template, open it in Word, add your details, and send it.

1

Choose the template that fits you

Start with the style that matches your career stage and industry. Clean and minimal works well for corporate roles, a bold header suits creative and marketing roles, and a classic two-column layout is a solid all-rounder.

Quick tip: Pick the template that fits the role you want, not just the one that looks the nicest. Recruiters scan fast, so a clear layout beats a flashy one.
2

Download your files

Once your order is complete, your template files are ready to download from your order confirmation and email. Save them to a folder you can find easily, like Documents or your desktop.

  • Your download includes the editable Word template.
  • If the file arrives zipped, right-click it and choose Extract or Unzip first.
  • Keep an untouched copy of the original so you can always start fresh.
3

Open it in Word and make it yours

Open the file in Microsoft Word and click into any text to replace it with your own. Swap in your name, contact details, work history, and skills. Layouts, spacing, and fonts are already set up for you, so you only focus on the content.

W
Make it count: Replace every placeholder, and use numbers wherever you can. "Increased monthly leads by 35%" says far more than "Responsible for lead generation." Only include results you can back up.
4

Save as PDF and send it off

When you are happy with it, go to File, then Save As, and choose PDF. A PDF keeps your layout exactly the same on every device and in every application tracking system. Name the file clearly, for example FirstName-LastName-Resume.pdf, and attach it to your applications.

  • Tailor the top summary and keywords to each job description.
  • Proofread once more, then read it aloud to catch slips.
  • Keep your resume to one page unless you have extensive experience.

Quick answers

Do I need special software?

You need Microsoft Word to edit the templates. No design software is required.

Can I change the colors and fonts?

Yes. Everything is editable in Word, including colors, fonts, and section order.

Will my resume pass applicant tracking systems?

The layouts are clean and use standard headings, which helps. Always use keywords from the job posting, and save as PDF unless the employer asks for another format.
